Ziggy Palffy Autographs
Ziggy Palffy was born on May 5, 1972, in Skalica, Czechoslovakia. He began his professional hockey career with his hometown team, HK36 Skalica, at the age of 16. Palffy quickly established himself as a talented scorer, and in 1990, he was drafted by the New York Islanders in the second round of the NHL Entry Draft.
Palffy played for the Islanders from 1993 to 1999, where he was known for his speed and goal-scoring ability. In the 1996-1997 season, he set a career-high in goals with 48, and he finished his Islanders career with 168 goals and 369 points in 331 games. In 1999, he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings, where he continued to be a prolific scorer, recording 87 goals and 201 points in just 205 games over a three-season span.
After leaving the NHL in 2006, Palffy returned to his hometown team, HK36 Skalica, where he played for two seasons before retiring in 2008 at the age of 36. Throughout his career, he also represented Slovakia in several international tournaments, including the Winter Olympics and the IIHF World Championships. Palffy will always be remembered as one of the most exciting and dynamic scorers of his era, and his contributions to the sport of hockey both in the NHL and internationally will not be forgotten.
