Steve Ritchie Autographs
Steve Ritchie is a retired military pilot who is best known for his remarkable service during the Vietnam War. Ritchie was born on February 7, 1942, in Reidsville, North Carolina. He grew up in a humble background where he worked for his parents and earned enough money to buy his flight lessons at a local airport. Ritchie first earned his private pilot's license in 1965, while serving as an ROTC cadet at the University of Florida. After completing his studies, he enrolled in the Air Force as a second lieutenant in 1965.
After entering the Air Force, Steve Ritchie went through rigorous military training and became a well-trained F-4 Phantom fighter pilot. He flew numerous missions over Vietnam, becoming one of the most distinguished fighter pilots in the war. Ritchie scored his first victory in May 1972, after downing a MiG-21 Soviet-made fighter plane. In just a mere span of two months, he achieved his fifth and final kill, making him the only F-4 Phantom pilot to become a five-time ace. Furthermore, he also earned several prestigious military awards and was recognized as one of the greatest fighter pilots in American military history.
After his retirement from the military, Steve Ritchie continued to serve his country as a consultant for various defense companies. He also joined the National Museum of the United States Air Force as an executive director, where he worked to preserve the history of the Air Force and raise awareness about its contributions to the nation's defense. Today, Ritchie remains one of the most respected and celebrated pilots in the history of the United States Air Force. Despite his many accomplishments, he remains humble and continues to inspire future generations through his dedication and passion for flying.
