Mike Farrell, born on February 6, 1939, in South St. Paul, Minnesota, is an American actor best known for his role as Captain B.J. Hunnicutt on the iconic television series M*A*S*H (1975-1983). After moving to Hollywood as a child, Farrell served in the United States Marine Corps before pursuing an acting career.
Farrell's film career began with uncredited roles in movies like "Captain Newman, M.D." (1963) and "The Graduate" (1967). He gained more prominence with appearances in films such as "Targets" (1968) and "The Killers Within" (1995). Farrell also ventured into producing, notably serving as a producer for the Robin Williams-starring film "Patch Adams" (1998).
While Farrell's most significant impact has been in television, he has lent his voice to animated films, including "Superman: Brainiac Attacks" (2006), where he voiced Jonathan Kent. His most recent film appearance was in the 2015 comedy "Bucky and the Squirrels". Throughout his career, Farrell has balanced his acting work with political activism, particularly advocating against the death penalty.
