Robert Kirkman is an American comic book writer and producer, best known for creating the popular comic book series, The Walking Dead. Born on November 30, 1978, in Lexington, Kentucky, Kirkman grew up reading comics and watching horror movies. In 2003, he self-published the first issue of The Walking Dead, which ultimately became a global phenomenon. The comic book series sold millions of copies worldwide and was adapted into a successful television show.
Apart from his work on The Walking Dead, Kirkman has been actively involved in the film industry. In 2010, he wrote and produced a superhero movie titled "The Astounding Wolf-Man." The film was based on his comic book series of the same name, which tells the story of a former millionaire who is turned into a werewolf. The film was released on digital platforms, including iTunes and Amazon Prime Video.
In 2015, Kirkman signed a deal with Universal Pictures to develop and produce his creator-owned titles into films. His Image Comics title, "Invincible," was the first to receive a film adaptation, with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg attached to direct the project.
