Bill Anderson is an American country singer, songwriter, and television personality who has been associated with the music industry for over six decades. Born on November 1, 1937, in Columbia, South Carolina, Anderson began his musical journey as a teenager, playing local house parties, and clubs. He eventually landed his first recording contract with Decca Records in 1959 and released his debut single "That's What It's Like to Be Lonesome."
