Chris Martin is a British singer-songwriter and musician, best known as the lead vocalist and co-founder of the popular rock band Coldplay. He was born on March 2nd, 1977, in Exeter, Devon, England. Martin's passion for music started at an early age, and he began playing the piano and guitar as a teenager. He attended University College London, where he met his future Coldplay bandmates.
Martin formed Coldplay in 1996, along with Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion. The band released their debut album "Parachutes" in 2000, which became a commercial and critical success, earning them a Grammy award for best alternative album. Martin's soulful and emotive voice, combined with the band's melodic and atmospheric sound, made them a worldwide phenomenon.
