Joe Perry was born on September 10, 1950, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, USA. Perry is an American guitarist, songwriter, and member of the famed rock band, Aerosmith. He began his musical career at a young age and learned how to play the guitar from his father, an engineering draftsman. Perry's passion for music led him to form his first band, the Jam Band, while he was in high school. In the early 1970s, he co-founded Aerosmith along with Steven Tyler, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton, and Joey Kramer.
Perry is known for his unique guitar playing style and has been listed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He wrote several hit songs for Aerosmith, including "Walk This Way," "Sweet Emotion," and "Dream On." He has released multiple solo albums, including the critically acclaimed "Have Guitar, Will Travel" in 2009. Perry has also collaborated with several other musicians, including Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, and Slash. In addition, he has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Aerosmith.
