Dave Silk Autograph
Dave Silk is an American former professional ice hockey player, born on January 1, 1958, in Scituate, Massachusetts. He started playing for Boston University in 1976, where he was part of the team that won the NCAA championship in 1978. He was known for his excellent skills as a forward, which helped the team to clinch several games during his four seasons there. In his eleven-year professional career, Silk played for four NHL teams, including the Rangers, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, and Winnipeg Jets. He was a consistent performer, and his versatility made him a valuable asset to the teams he represented. Silk won a silver medal in the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid, scoring a crucial goal against the Soviet Union in the semi-finals. His team went on to win the gold medal after defeating Finland in the finals.
Silk retired from professional hockey in 1990, collecting 274 points in 441 games. After retirement, he became involved in coaching, serving as the head coach of the men's hockey team at his alma mater, Boston University, from 1992 to 1995.
