DAR celebrates Bess Truman's birthday (03/07/2015): The Independence Pioneers Daughters of American Revolution on Feb. 13 had a celebration for the 130 year birthday of Bess Wallace Truman at the Truman Presidential Museum and Library. After the program by guest speaker Kay Waldo Barnes, a birthday tea was presented and all attending were invited. Writer recalls days fishing with former first lady Bess Truman (02/14/2014): Today marks the 129th birthday of Bess Truman. It's a date that reminds me of the good times I had visiting with her over the years and keeping the Trumans supplied with fresh crappie, which they loved.
