James Russell House, better known as J.R. House, was an accomplished baseball player who made his mark in the sport during the late 1990s to early 2000s. He was born on November 11, 1979, in Charleston, West Virginia, and entered the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft straight out of high school in 1998. The Pittsburgh Pirates selected House with their fifth-round pick, and he went on to play several positions - including catcher, third base, and outfield - throughout his professional career.
