Calvin Borel Autographs
Calvin Borel is an American jockey who was born on November 7, 1966, in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana. Growing up in a family with a history of horse racing, he began his racing career in his teenage years. Borel made his professional debut in 1983, riding at a racetrack in Louisiana. He quickly established himself as a talented jockey, known for his ability to connect with horses and guide them to victory.
Borel's racing career is filled with many accolades, including multiple wins in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes. He first captured national attention in 2007 when he won his first Kentucky Derby aboard Street Sense, breaking a 25-year drought for jockeys from Louisiana. Borel went on to win two more Kentucky Derbys, as well as the Preakness Stakes three times, and the Belmont Stakes once. His success on the track earned him the nickname "Bo-rail," for his ability to hug the tight turns of a racetrack's rail in order to gain an advantage over his competitors.
In addition to his success in the major races, Borel has also won many other important stakes races throughout his career, such as the Arkansas Derby, Louisiana Derby, and the Breeders' Cup Classic. He has become a fan favorite for his humble demeanor and a willingness to take on longshot horses that other jockeys would not ride. Borel has since retired from racing, but his legacy in the sport of horse racing is one that will be remembered for many years to come.
