Dick Trickle Autographs
Dick Trickle, born on October 27, 1941, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, was a legendary American race car driver known for his prolific short track racing career. Trickle competed in an estimated 2,200 races, logging one million laps and winning over 1,200 feature races. He earned the nickname "White Knight" for his SuperAmerica-sponsored paint scheme while racing in Wisconsin.
Trickle's NASCAR career began in earnest in 1989 when he made his full-time Winston Cup Series debut at the age of 48, driving the #84 Miller High Life Buick for Stavola Brothers Racing. He won the NASCAR Rookie of the Year award that season, becoming the oldest driver in Winston Cup history to do so. Throughout his NASCAR career, Trickle started 303 Cup races, achieving 15 top-5 and 36 top-10 finishes. His best Cup finish was third place, which he achieved five times.
Beyond NASCAR, Trickle's racing accomplishments were remarkable. In 1972, he won 67 races in a single season. He claimed seven ARTGO Championships between 1979 and 1987, won back-to-back ASA AC-Delco Challenge championships in 1984 and 1985, and was named the 1968 USAC Stock Car Rookie of the Year. Trickle's career also included success in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, where he won two races and achieved 24 top-5 finishes in 158 starts.
