In 2017, Jones moved up to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, joining Furniture Row Racing as the driver of the No. 77 Toyota. In his first season, he earned one win, five top-5 finishes, and 14 top-10 finishes, finishing 19th in the championship standings. After one season with Furniture Row Racing, Jones returned to Joe Gibbs Racing in 2018, driving the No. 20 Toyota in the Cup Series. He has continued to be a consistent contender, earning two more Cup Series wins and 43 top-10 finishes in the past three seasons.
