Larry Morgan was born on October 28, 1954, in Newark, Ohio, USA. He is one of the most successful professional drag racers in the history of the sport. Morgan began his love affair with racing at a young age, buying and restoring his first car, a 1969 Mach 1 Mustang, as a teenager. Morgan would later go on to race a number of different vehicles throughout his career, all with great success.
Morgan's professional racing career began in 1974, at the tender age of 20. His first foray into competition saw him racing in the stock car class, a category he dominated for several years. But it wasn't until the 1980s that Morgan really hit his stride. In 1989, he won the Pro Stock division of the NHRA World Series, the highest-profile accomplishment of his career. Morgan continued to race professionally for several more years, building an impressive record of 10 national event wins and 26 final-round appearances over the course of his career.
After hanging up his racing helmet, Morgan remained involved in the sport in various capacities. He started his own team, Larry Morgan Racing, and became a driving force behind several high-profile car parts companies. For Morgan, racing has been a lifelong passion, and his dedication and success over nearly three decades are a testament to his talents as a driver and a racer. He is a true legend in the world of professional drag racing, and his impact on the sport will be felt for years to come.
