Mike Skinner Autographs
Mike Skinner is one of the most accomplished racers in American motorsports history. Born on June 28, 1957, in Susanville, California, Skinner began racing in 1977 at the age of 20. He started his career racing motorcycles before transitioning to four-wheeled vehicles. In 1986, Skinner won the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Tour championship, launching him onto the national racing scene.
Skinner's most notable achievements came during his 13-year NASCAR Cup Series career, which included 18 wins, 93 top-five finishes, and 159 top-ten finishes. He won three NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series championships in 1995, 1996, and 1998, becoming one of the most successful drivers in that series' history. In 1998, he became the first driver in the series to win six consecutive races, and he set the record for the most wins in a single season with nine. Skinner's success in NASCAR's lower-tier series earned him rides in the Cup Series, where he continued to compete until 2012.
Off the track, Skinner is known as a passionate advocate for safety in motorsports. In 2001, he founded the SafeIsFast initiative to promote safety education for drivers at all levels of racing. He also serves as a racing analyst for various media outlets and has worked as a driver coach for numerous drivers. Today, Mike Skinner is widely considered one of the most successful and respected drivers in American racing history, and his contributions to the sport will be remembered for decades to come.
