Michael Bishop was an American football quarterback who played in the NFL and professional leagues in Canada. Born in Galveston, Texas in 1976, Bishop was an exceptional athlete from a young age. As a high school football player, he was a standout quarterback at Willis High School, leading them to the state championship in Texas in 1992. At Kansas State, Bishop continued to show his prowess on the football field. He was instrumental in the team's success during the 1997 season, throwing for over 2,800 yards and leading them to the Big 12 Conference championship. Bishop's efforts earned him the recognition of being named the Consensus All-American quarterback, a prestigious honor for any football player. Bishop's performances at college level earned him the attention of NFL teams, and he was eventually drafted by the New England Patriots in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL draft.

Bishop's career in the NFL was not as successful as his college career, and he only made a handful of appearances in the league. However, he continued to play professionally, and his most successful spell came in the Canadian Football League, where he played for teams such as the Toronto Argonauts and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Bishop remains a popular figure among football fans, and his exploits at Kansas State earned him a place in the university's Hall of Fame.
