After retiring from playing, Wenger switched his focus to coaching and management. He first served as head coach of AS Nancy, leading the club to promotion to the top-flight division. Wenger's remarkable success at AS Nancy caught the attention of AS Monaco, where he coached for 7 years, with his notable highlights being leading the club to a French Ligue 1 title win and reaching the UEFA Cup Winners Cup final. Wenger was then appointed as the head coach of Arsenal in 1996, where he spent 22 years in charge – the most successful and longest-reigning manager in the history of the club. Under his leadership, Arsenal won three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups, and reached the Champions League final.

Wenger also played a pioneering role in bringing new ideas to football management, notably in fitness, scouting, and the use of technology. Overall, Wenger's contribution to football has been immense, and he is regarded as one of the finest football managers and coaches of all time.
