Claudio Ranieri Autographs
Claudio Ranieri was born on October 20th, 1951, in Rome, Italy. He began his soccer career as a player in 1973, playing as a defender for the Roma football club. After several years of playing, he retired in 1986 and began his coaching career. In 1993, he became head coach of Cagliari and helped them to avoid relegation. He later coached several high-profile teams including Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan before landing his biggest coaching job of all when he became head coach of Leicester City in 2015.
The Leicester City Football Club was not favored to win the English Premier League in the 2015/2016 season. They had just avoided relegation in the previous season and were given 5,000 to 1 odds of winning the league. Under Claudio Ranieri's leadership, the team played with a passion and commitment that earned them victories against some of the toughest teams in the league. When the final whistle blew, Leicester City was crowned champions of the English Premier League, defying all odds and making history. Ranieri was named the FIFA Manager of the Year for his incredible achievement with the team.
Despite his success at Leicester City, Ranieri was sacked from the club in February 2017 following a string of poor performances. After his departure from Leicester, he took on coaching jobs at Nantes, Fulham, and Roma before retiring from coaching in May 2019. Throughout his soccer career, Claudio Ranieri was known for his tactical intelligence, his ability to develop young players, and his passion for the game. He will go down in history as one of the most successful coaches in soccer history, having won multiple titles in different leagues and specifically taking a team of underdogs to a historic Championship win.
