Gary Speed Autographs

Gary Speed was a Welsh soccer player who played as a midfielder for teams like Leeds United, Everton, Newcastle United, and Bolton Wanderers. He was born on September 8, 1969, in Mancot, Flintshire, Wales. Speed began his footballing career with the Leeds United club after signing for them from his boyhood club, Chester City at the age of 19 in 1988. Since then, he had a very successful career in the game.
Speed spent seven years of his career at Leeds United and won the First Division Championship with them in 1992, before moving to Everton in 1996. At Everton, he played for two seasons and then moved to Newcastle United in 1998 for a transfer fee of £5.5 million, becoming the record signing for the team. During his time at Newcastle, he helped the team reach the FA Cup final in 1999 and the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in the 2003-04 season.
In November 2011, Speed was appointed as the manager of the Welsh national team. Under his guidance, the Welsh team had a successful run in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Unfortunately, Speed passed away on November 27, 2011, due to suicide, which shocked the footballing world. His sudden demise at the age of just 42 left the football fraternity in complete shock as Speed was a highly respected figure in the game. Speed remains one of the most memorable Welsh players and was inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame posthumously in 2012.
