George Eastham Autographs
George Eastham was an English soccer player, born in Blackpool on September 23, 1936. He began his soccer career with Arden Athletic before joining Newcastle United in 1956. He played five seasons with the club, making 132 appearances and scoring 45 goals. It was during his time at Newcastle that Eastham was called up to the England U23 squad.
In 1960, Eastham transferred to Arsenal for a then-record fee of £47,500. He played for the club for six seasons, scoring 41 goals in 223 appearances. It was here that he experienced the pinnacle of his soccer career, winning the Football League in 1971. Eastham was known for his technical skills, quick thinking, and precision passing ability. He could shoot with both feet and was adept at delivering accurate set pieces.
Eastham made his senior international debut for England in 1963, playing against Switzerland in a World Cup qualifier. He went on to earn 19 caps for his country, scoring six goals. After retiring from playing, Eastham went on to become a successful businessman, and later a coach. His contribution to soccer both on and off the pitch will not be forgotten, and he remains a highly respected figure in the world of soccer.
