John Barnes Autographs
John Barnes is a retired Jamaican-English professional footballer who is widely regarded as one of the best footballers to have ever played for Liverpool FC. He was born in Jamaica in 1963 but raised in London, England since the age of 12. Barnes started playing football as a youth at Watford FC before moving on to play professionally for numerous football clubs including Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Charlton Athletic. His football career spanned for over 20 years, during which he played a key role in Liverpool’s dominance of English football during the 80s and early 90s.
Barnes is best known for his excellence as an attacking midfielder, with his incredible skills and pace making him a formidable player on the pitch. He joined Liverpool FC in 1987 and helped the team win two league titles, two FA Cups, and a League Cup during his time at the club. He also won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award in 1988 and the Footballer of the Year award in 1990. Barnes was a captain for the England national football team for many years, earning a total of 79 caps and scoring 11 goals for his country.
After retiring from professional football in 1999, Barnes went on to coach various football teams including Celtic, Tranmere Rovers, and Jamaica national team. He is also well-known as a television analyst and football pundit, often appearing on football shows in the UK.
