John Lukic Autographs
John Lukic was born on 11 December 1960 in Chesterfield, England. He is a retired professional football player who played as a goalkeeper. Lukic started his career at Leeds United in 1977 at the age of 17. He went on to play for a host of clubs, including Arsenal, Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday, and his last club, Barnet.
Lukic had a successful career in football and is predominantly remembered for his time at Arsenal. He signed for Arsenal in August 1983 and played for the club until 1990 before returning to Leeds United for two seasons. Lukic played a crucial role in helping Arsenal win the league cup in 1987 and the first division title in the 1988/1989 season. He made a total of 311 appearances for the Gunners and kept 128 clean sheets, cementing his position as an Arsenal legend.
Upon retiring from professional football, Lukic held a variety of coaching and advisory roles. He briefly worked as a goalkeeper coach for Leeds United and coached the Finnish national team from 2003 to 2005. In 2010, Lukic was appointed as a club ambassador for Leeds United and regularly appears in legends matches for charity. He is considered one of the best goalkeepers of his generation and is still remembered fondly by fans today.
