Johnny Giles is a retired Irish soccer player and manager. Born in Dublin in 1940, Giles spent his formative years playing for Stella Maris before signing with Manchester United in 1957. At Leeds, Giles was part of Don Revie's 'Revie Army' that won two First Division titles, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and reached the final of the European Cup. Giles was a tenacious midfielder with a great range of passing and an eye for goal. He formed a formidable partnership with Billy Bremner in the centre of the park, and was a key part of the team that dominated English football in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

After retiring as a player, Giles embarked on a successful managerial career. He had spells at West Bromwich Albion, Shamrock Rovers, Vancouver Whitecaps, and the Republic of Ireland national team. Giles was known for his tactical acumen and ability to motivate his players.
