Mike Summerbee Autographs
Mike Summerbee was born on December 15, 1942, in Preston, England. He was a professional footballer who played as a winger for Manchester City throughout most of his career. Summerbee began his soccer training with the Lancashire Boys before joining the Swindon Town in 1960, where he stayed for three seasons.
However, Summerbee's career reached new heights when he moved to Manchester City in 1965. He quickly became a fan favorite with his prolific scoring, setting up goals, and tireless work ethic. Summerbee was also known for his pace, agility, and ability to take on defenders. He helped Manchester City to win the First Division title in 1968, the FA Cup in 1969, and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1970.
Summerbee won the PFA's (Professional Footballers' Association) Young Player of the year award in 1970, and he amassed 449 appearances for Manchester City over ten seasons. After leaving Manchester City, he had a brief spell with Burnley and then went to play in the United States. Summerbee finished his professional soccer career with Stockport County, where he played his last match in May 1979. Today, the former winger remains a respected figure in soccer history, and his contributions to Manchester City's dominance in the 1960s and 1970s are still celebrated.
