Rachel Daly was born on December 6, 1991, in Harrogate, England. She grew up playing both soccer and basketball, but ultimately decided to focus on soccer. Daly started her professional career in 2014 with the London Bees in the FA WSL 2, where she played for one season before moving to the Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).
Daly made an immediate impact during her rookie season, scoring 5 goals and earning NWSL Rookie of the Year honors. She continued to excel in the league, earning three straight NWSL Best XI honors from 2017-2019. Additionally, Daly has represented England on the international stage, earning her first cap in 2016. She has since made appearances in major international tournaments, including the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Off the field, Daly is known for her philanthropic work. She is a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ community, volunteering and fundraising for organizations such as the Houston Pride Parade and the Trevor Project. Daly also founded the RD26 Foundation, which aims to provide opportunities for young girls to play sports and to empower women through sport. Her dedication to both her sport and her community have made Daly a role model for aspiring athletes and a respected figure in the world of soccer.
