He gained international recognition when he helped Santos FC win the Brazilian Serie A Championship in 2002 and 2004. In August 2005, he was signed by Real Madrid for a transfer fee of €24 million, making him one of the most expensive players in the world at the time. During his time in Madrid, Robinho won two La Liga titles and one Spanish Super Cup. He also gained a reputation for his incredible dribbling skills and his ability to score spectacular goals.

After leaving Real Madrid, Robinho joined Manchester City in 2008 for a transfer fee of £32.5 million, which was a record fee for the Premier League at the time. He spent two seasons at the club, scoring 16 goals in 53 appearances. He then went on to play for AC Milan, Santos FC (again), Guangzhou Evergrande, Atletico Mineiro, and Istanbul Basaksehir. Robinho has won numerous domestic titles during his career and played over 100 times for the Brazilian national team, scoring 28 goals.
