Son Heung-min is a South Korean professional football player, currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League as a forward. Son was born on July 8th, 1992, in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, South Korea. He began his soccer career at a young age, playing for his elementary school team.
Son made his professional debut for FC Seoul in 2010 and later moved to Hamburg SV in Germany in 2013. The highlight of his Bundesliga career came while playing for Bayer Leverkusen, where he scored 29 goals in two seasons. In 2015, Tottenham Hotspur signed him for a fee of £22m, and he has been a key player for the club ever since. Son has won numerous awards and titles, including the Premier League Player of the Month award for April 2017 and October 2020, and the FIFA Puskas Award in 2020 for his amazing solo goal against Burnley.
Son also represents the South Korean national team, making his debut in 2010. He has played in three World Cups, including the 2018 edition when he led South Korea to the Round of 16. Son has been a vital player for his national team, and his performances have earned him the nickname "Sonaldo" after the legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldo. With his never-say-die attitude and exceptional skills on the field, Son will undoubtedly go down as one of South Korea's greatest football exports.
