Thierry Henry, born on August 17, 1977, is a former French professional soccer player. Henry’s soccer career started in AS Monaco youth academy at the age of 13 years. He made his professional debut for AS Monaco in 1994 which began his 20-year long career in professional soccer. Henry's ability to play as a winger, striker, or attacking midfielder earned him praise as one of the world's top soccer players.
Henry's soccer career skyrocketed after he moved to Arsenal Football Club in 1999 where he became a prolific scorer and helped the club win two Premier League Championships (2001-2002, 2003-2004), two FA Cups (2002, 2003), and reach the UEFA Champions League final in 2006. Henry was successful in keeping up his rare record of winning Premier League titles over five consecutive seasons and was named the Premier League player of the year in 2003 and 2004. He scored 174 goals in 254 appearances, making him the all-time top scorer for Arsenal Football Club. Henry's success at Arsenal led to him being named an ambassador in 2019.
Later on, Henry joined Barcelona in 2007, where he became an integral part of the world's best soccer team at that time. He scored 105 goals and provided 51 assists in 216 appearances for Barcelona. Henry’s success there helped the team win six trophies in 2009, including the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and Copa del Rey. He also played for the New York Red Bulls, helping them win the MLS Supporters' Shield in 2013. Henry retired from professional soccer in 2014 and decided to start his coaching career. His dedication, unique abilities, and loyalty made him one of the most recognized soccer players of all time.
