Andrew Allen Autographs

Andrew Allen is an American astronaut and retired United States Marine Corps Colonel, born on August 4, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1977. Later, in 1987, he earned a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. An experienced pilot, Allen served in the Marine Corps as a fighter pilot and also completed flight test training at the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School.
Andrew Allen's space career began in 1987 when he was selected by NASA as one of its astronauts. He served as a mission specialist for four Space Shuttle flights, including two in 1991 on the Columbia and the Atlantis, one in 1992 on the Endeavour, and the final one in 1994 on the Discovery. His engagements with these missions demonstrated his skills in handling various aspects of shuttle operations, including extravehicular activities (EVA), rendezvous and docking, and scientific research. Allen also served as a backup crew member on two other missions. He retired from NASA in August 1997, logging a total of 896 hours in space, over 22 days in orbit.
Allen's contribution to the space industry did not stop there. After his retirement from NASA, he served in various management roles at the Johnson Space Center and NASA headquarters. He also worked for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company before joining Dynetics, an Alabama-based aerospace company, in 2012. At Dynetics, he served as a senior systems engineer and program manager, focusing on the company's space initiatives. His extensive experience in the field of space exploration made him a valuable member of the team. Overall, Andrew Allen's contributions to the American space program have been instrumental in advancing our understanding of space, and his legacy continues to impact the industry today.
