James Adamson Autographs
James Adamson is an accomplished astronaut who was born on March 3, 1946, in Warsaw, New York. After graduating from the United States Military Academy with a degree in engineering in 1969, he joined the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot. Adamson served in the army for fourteen years, and during that time, he accumulated over 650 combat hours and earned several medals for his bravery.
In 1984, James Adamson was selected by NASA to become an astronaut. He completed his training and became a mission specialist for the Space Shuttle Discovery. Adamson was part of several missions, including STS-28, STS-43, STS-66, and STS-82, during which he conducted numerous experiments and helped deploy and repair satellites. During his career as an astronaut, Adamson logged over 334 hours in space and received several honors, including the NASA Distinguished Service Medal and the Army Distinguished Service Medal.
After retiring from NASA, James Adamson went on to work as a consultant, providing technical expertise to several companies. He also remained an active member of various organizations, including the Association of Space Explorers and the U.S. Army Aviation Hall of Fame. Adamson's insights on space exploration and his passion for spreading knowledge about it continue to inspire many people to this day.
