Mike Mullane Autographs
Mike Mullane is an American astronaut who has flown on three Space Shuttle missions. Mullane was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1945, and grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1967 and served as a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War. In 1978, Mullane was selected by NASA to become an astronaut.
Mullane's first Space Shuttle mission was STS-41-D in 1984, where he helped deploy three communication satellites. He then flew on STS-27 in 1988, a classified mission for the Department of Defense. Mullane's final Space Shuttle mission was STS-36 in 1990, where he deployed a secret military satellite. In total, Mullane spent over 350 hours in Space and orbited the Earth 562 times.
Mullane retired from NASA in 1990 and has since become a motivational speaker and author. He has written several books about his experiences as an astronaut, including Riding Rockets: The Outrageous Tales of a Space Shuttle Astronaut. Mullane, who was inducted into the International Space Hall of Fame in 2005, is known for his humor and candid storytelling about the challenges and dangers of Space travel.
