In 1944, he partnered with Joseph Barbera, his colleague from MGM, to co-found Hanna-Barbera Productions, which became the most successful animation studio in television history. The duo innovated the animation industry by creating TV cartoons that were quick, inexpensive, and relied on generic soundtracks. They created popular characters such as Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, and many more.

Hanna-Barbera cartoons were popular around the world and transformed the television industry by introducing Saturday morning cartoons, which became a staple of American childhood. Throughout his career, Bill Hanna won seven Primetime Emmy Awards, BAFTA, Peabody, and numerous other industry accolades. He passed away on March 22, 2001, at the age of 90, leaving a legacy as an animation pioneer and building a production studio that remains influential in the industry today.
