Erik Estrada Autographs
Erik Estrada is a Puerto Rican-American actor, voice actor, and police officer most famously known for his role in the television series, CHiPs. He was born on March 16, 1949, in New York City, and grew up in Spanish Harlem. Estrada started his career as an actor in the 1970s working on several independent films and made his television debut with the series, The Cross and the Switchblade, in 1970.
In 1977, Estrada landed the role of a lifetime when he was cast as Officer Francis Llewellyn 'Ponch' Poncherello in the drama series, CHiPs. The show revolved around two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers solving various crimes and was incredibly popular in its time. Estrada became an instant sensation and was voted as one of the most attractive male television stars of the 1980s. He continued starring in the show until its end in 1983, and it has been his most iconic role to date.
Estrada's television career continued with guest appearances in several shows, including Diagnosis: Murder and Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. He also participated in reality TV shows such as The Surreal Life and the UK's Celebrity Big Brother. Besides, Estrada provided the voice of Rico in the animated series, Sealab 2021. Over the years, he has made several cameos in music videos and movies. In 1997, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contribution to television. Estrada entertained TV audiences for many years and will always be remembered as the charming and charismatic Ponch in CHiPs.
