Jason Lee, born on April 25, 1970, in Orange County, California, is known for his versatile acting skills and roles in numerous movies. His career started as a professional skateboarder in the early 1990s after dropping out of high school. Lee was a successful skateboarder, featuring in skateboarding magazines and videos, and also earning himself sponsorship from the skateboard company Blind. He continued skating professionally until his early 20s when he decided to pursue an acting career.
Jason Lee's success in acting started in 1995 when he was cast in the film Mallrats, directed by Kevin Smith. Since then, he has featured in numerous films, including Almost Famous, Dogma, Vanilla Sky, and The Incredibles. In 2005, Lee featured in his most recognizable role to date when he was cast as David Seville in the family movie Alvin and the Chipmunks. He catapulted to greater heights when he reprised his role in three sequels, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. He also voiced Syndrome in Pixar's 2004 superhero film The Incredibles and played Earl Hickey in the NBC sitcom My Name is Earl, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.
In addition to acting, Jason Lee has dabbled in other areas of the entertainment industry. He has directed multiple music videos and even founded a skateboarding company, Stereo Skateboards. Lee is also known for his voice acting work in animated television series such as Disney's Gravity Falls and Cartoon Network's We Bare Bears. His versatility and range as an actor keep him continuously sought after, and he continues to leave a mark in the film and television industry.
