Terri Runnels is a former professional wrestling personality who became one of the most recognizable female wrestlers of her time. Born on October 5, 1966, in Live Oak, Florida, Terri began her career as a television journalist before joining the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1991 as an interviewer. She quickly became an integral part of the wrestling scene and caught the attention of fans with her stunning looks and impeccable wrestling skills.
Terri was given the moniker of “Marlena” and became the stylish manager of Goldust, a wrestler with a unique persona that included turning his opponents’ matches into bizarre theatrical performances. Known for smoking cigars and using a gold video recorder to document Goldust’s matches, Terri was a central figure in the storyline of the WWF in the mid-1990s. She was also known for her on-screen feud with the wrestler Sable, and the two have had several physical altercations in the ring.
After leaving WWF in 2004, Terri made occasional appearances on the wrestling circuit and pursued acting and modeling careers. She acted in several movies and TV shows, including the 2008 movie, “The Cursed,” and the reality show “Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling.” Terri was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019 as part of the D-Generation X faction. Terri’s successful wrestling career was an inspiration to many, and she continues to be admired by fans worldwide.
