Born on December 8, 1982, in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico, Aceves started his baseball career as a right-handed pitcher with the Yucatan Lions of the Mexican League in 2001. However, he rose to fame when he was signed by the New York Yankees on November 17, 2007, as an unrestricted free agent.
Aceves made his Major League debut with the New York Yankees on April 4, 2008, as a relief pitcher in a game against the Toronto Blue Jays. He quickly became a crucial member of the Yankees' bullpen and helped his team win the 2009 World Series by posting a 3-0 record in the regular season with a 3.54 ERA. Over his career, Aceves pitched for several Major League teams like Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants, among others.
Alfredo Aceves’ baseball career is striking for his ability to switch between roles as a starter and relief pitcher effectively.
