Bobby Cox was born on May 21, 1941, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a successful baseball player during his high school years and was later signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1959 as a minor league player. He led the team to a National League West title in his first full season as manager, and from 1991 to 2005, he guided the Braves to 14 consecutive division titles.
