Brett Jackson is a former American professional baseball outfielder, born on August 2, 1988, in Berkeley, California. Jackson developed a love for baseball at an early age and grew up playing the sport even in high school at Miramonte High School in Orinda, California. While in his high school, he was an exceptional player and even earned All-League honors. He later proceeded to the University of California, Berkeley, where he played for the California Golden Bears baseball team.
In 2009, Jackson was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the first round of the MLB draft, which marked the beginning of his professional career. He played in minor leagues representing various Cubs affiliates, such as the Daytona Cubs and Tennessee Smokies, where he showed significant improvement in his performance. He was known for his excellent bat speed, power, speed, and defense, which earned him recognition as one of the Cubs' top prospects.
Brett Jackson made his major league debut on August 5, 2012, after being called up to the Cubs. Although Jackson had a brief career stint in the majors, his overall career highlights in the minor leagues were noteworthy. He played a total of 592 minor league games, where he posted a batting average of .270, 67 home runs, 308 RBIs, 168 stolen bases, and an on-base percentage of .354. Jackson continues to contribute to baseball worldwide, now serving as a coach and scout for the San Francisco Giants.
