Carlos Zambrano Autographs
Carlos Zambrano is a retired professional baseball player who represented Venezuela in international competitions. Born in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, on June 1, 1981, Zambrano began his professional career with the Chicago Cubs in 2001, where he played for 11 years. He played for Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies before retiring from professional baseball in 2014.
Zambrano was known for his aggressive playing style and his versatility as a pitcher. During his career, he had played as a starter, a closer, and as a reliever. Zambrano was a three-time All-Star, and he received the National League Silver Slugger Award in 2006 for his excellent hitting. His best year came in 2004 when he won 16 games with a 2.75 ERA, 202 strikeouts, and two complete-game shutouts.
Despite his talent, Zambrano had a volatile personality and had a few clashes with his teammates and managers. In 2007, he had a dugout tantrum that resulted in him being suspended for six games. He also got into an altercation with Cubs catcher Michael Barrett during a game in 2007. Zambrano could not keep a lid on his temper and was known for breaking bats and water coolers. However, his fearless approach to the game and talent overshadowed his erratic behavior, and he remained a popular player among fans.
