Over the course of his 17-year career, Park played for several different teams including the Dodgers, Rangers, Padres, Mets, Phillies, Yankees and Pirates. He was known for his ability to throw a variety of pitches with both power and precision. As a result, he earned the nickname "Sarge" and earned a reputation as one of the most versatile pitchers in the game. Throughout his career, he recorded over 1,700 strikeouts, a 4.36 ERA and 124 wins, including a no-hitter in 1999.

In addition to his impressive career on the field, Park was also a trailblazer for Korean baseball players. He became the first Korean-born player to play Major League Baseball and paved the way for many others to follow in his footsteps. He remains a beloved figure in South Korea and has continued to inspire a new generation of baseball players to pursue their dreams of playing at the highest level.
