Chris Perez Autographs
Chris Perez is a retired professional baseball pitcher who was born on July 1, 1985, in Bradenton, Florida. Perez attended the University of Miami, where he played college baseball for the Miami Hurricanes. He was selected in the first round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals, where he made his major league debut in 2008. He was then traded to the Cleveland Indians in 2009, where he had his best seasons as a reliever.
During his career, Perez racked up a total of 133 saves and 397 strikeouts in 383 innings pitched across eight seasons. He was named an All-Star in 2011 and 2012 while playing for the Cleveland Indians. In 2013, Perez signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he battled injuries and appeared in 49 games. Following his lone season with the Dodgers, Perez retired in 2015, finishing with a career ERA of 3.51.
Perez was known for his competitive edge, dominant fastball, and fiery personality on the mound. He recently returned to the game, as he was named the pitching coach for the West Virginia Black Bears, a minor league affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. His experience and credibility as a successful pitcher will serve him well in his new role, supporting young players in achieving their big league dreams.
