Danny Jackson Autographs
Danny Jackson is a retired American baseball player who had a successful 15-year career in Major League Baseball (MLB). Jackson was born on January 5, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he played college baseball and was later drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the first round of the 1982 MLB draft.
Jackson made his MLB debut in 1983 for the Royals, and he became one of the top left-handed pitchers in the league. He helped the Royals win the World Series in 1985, where he was the winning pitcher in Game 5. Throughout his career, Jackson also played for several other teams, including the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He had a career record of 112-99 with a 3.77 ERA, and he was a two-time All-Star.
One of Jackson's most remarkable achievements was in 1988 when he threw a no-hitter for the Reds against the reigning World Series champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jackson's no-hitter was significant because it was the first no-hitter thrown by a Reds pitcher since 1971. He retired from baseball in 1997 but remained involved in the sport as a coach and broadcaster. Jackson was inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame in 2001, and his outstanding baseball career will always be remembered as one of the best in MLB history.
