Darren Daulton, born on January 3, 1962, is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) player who began his professional career in 1980, when he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies. He earned his first call up to the majors in 1983 but had to spend time in the minor leagues before establishing himself as a regular starter for the Phillies in 1986. Daulton is best known for his 14-year career with the Philadelphia Phillies, where he played from 1983 to 1997. He was a complete player, known for his offensive and defensive skills, and was one of the most productive catchers in the game during his prime. In 1992, he hit 27 home runs, had 109 runs batted in, and batted .270, earning a Silver Slugger Award and placing 5th in the National League MVP voting.
