Rozema made his Major League debut with the Tigers on September 3, 1977, at the age of 21. He quickly established himself as a talented pitcher and contributed to the Tigers’ success in 1978, helping the team win the American League East championship. He had a record of 15-7 and an ERA of 3.09 that season, earning him a spot on the American League All-Star team. Rozema continued to have a successful career with the Tigers, helping them win the World Series in 1984. He retired from baseball in 1986 after eight seasons with the Tigers.

During his career, Rozema compiled a record of 60-53 with an ERA of 3.54. He pitched in 168 games, starting 140 of them, and recorded two shutouts. In addition to his impressive stats, Rozema was known for his unique wind-up, which involved a long stride and a high leg kick. This helped him to deceive batters and get them out more easily. Rozema’s dedication to his craft and his love of the game made him a valuable player on every team he played for. His contributions to baseball were recognized in 2018 when he was inducted into the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame. Read even more about Dave Rozema at Wikipedia
