David Wells Autographs
David Wells is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for multiple teams throughout his career. Born on May 20, 1963, in Torrance, California, Wells began playing baseball at a young age and continued to excel throughout high school at Point Loma High School in San Diego. He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the second round of the 1982 MLB Draft and made his debut in the majors in 1987.
Wells played for several teams during his career, including the Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, and Los Angeles Dodgers. He was known for his strong pitching arm and ability to throw with precision. He pitched a perfect game in 1998 while playing for the New York Yankees, becoming only the 15th pitcher in baseball history to accomplish this feat.
Over the course of his career, Wells was a three-time All-Star and won two World Series championships with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1992 and the New York Yankees in 1998. He retired from baseball in 2007 with a career record of 239-157, an earned run average of 4.13, and 2,201 strikeouts. Today, he is remembered as one of the most successful left-handed pitchers in Major League Baseball history.
