Carmona had an impressive rookie year in 2007 with the Indians, finishing the season with a 19-8 record and an ERA of 3.06. He won the American League Pitcher of the Month Award twice that season and was named the Indians' pitcher of the year. Carmona was also a key contributor to the Indians' postseason run that year, helping them reach the American League Championship Series. He continued to have successful seasons with the Indians, earning an All-Star selection in 2010.

In 2011, Carmona's career took a turn when it was discovered that he had been using a false identity and his real name was actually Roberto Hernández Heredia. Carmona was arrested for using a false identity in the Dominican Republic, and his visa to play in the United States was revoked. After resolving his legal issues, he returned to play for the Indians in 2012, but struggled with injuries and performances. He was released by the Indians at the end of the season, and his career in Major League Baseball came to an end. Read even more about Fausto Carmona at Wikipedia
