Jake Arrieta Autographs
Jake Arrieta is a former Major League Baseball pitcher, known for his excellent command of the baseball and his innovative approach to pitching. Born in Farmington, Missouri in 1986, Arrieta attended Texas Christian University and was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the fifth round of the 2007 MLB draft.
Arrieta made his major league debut with the Orioles in 2010, but it wasn't until he was traded to the Chicago Cubs in 2013 that he really began to establish himself as a star pitcher. With the Cubs, Arrieta worked with pitching coach Chris Bosio to overhaul his mechanics and develop a unique, crossfire-style delivery that confused batters and made him one of the most dominant pitchers in the league. Arrieta won the National League Cy Young Award in 2015, pitching a no-hitter against the Los Angeles Dodgers that same year.
After six seasons with the Cubs, Arrieta signed with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2018. Though his performance hasn't quite lived up to his peak years in Chicago, Arrieta remains a respected and skilled pitcher with a storied career. He retired from baseball in April 2021, finishing his career with a record of 115-90 and a 3.76 ERA. Arrieta will be remembered for his dynamic pitching style and his contributions to the Cubs' 2016 World Series championship.
