Jarrod Parker Autographs
Jarrod Parker is a former American professional baseball pitcher who played for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Oakland Athletics in the Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on November 24, 1988, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and attended Norwell High School in Ossian, Indiana. He was drafted by the Diamondbacks in the first round of the 2007 MLB draft, and made his debut with the team in 2011.
Parker played for the Diamondbacks for one season before being traded to the Oakland Athletics in 2011. He had an outstanding season with the Athletics in 2012, posting a 13-8 record with a 3.47 ERA in 29 starts. He also helped lead the team to the playoffs that year, but unfortunately, he was unable to pitch in the postseason due to an elbow injury. Parker was able to return to the mound in 2013, but he struggled that season, and eventually had to undergo Tommy John surgery.
After the surgery, Parker made several attempts to return to the MLB, but he was never able to regain his previous form, and announced his retirement from baseball in 2019. Despite his shortened career, Parker will be remembered for his impressive pitching in 2012, which helped lead the Athletics to the playoffs. He also demonstrated resilience and determination, continuing to work hard to return to the mound even after his injury.
