Jose Tabata is a former professional baseball player from Venezuela. Born on August 12, 1988, in Anzoategui, Tabata started his baseball career at the age of 16 when he signed a contract with the New York Yankees. He played in the minor leagues for several years before making his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut on June 9, 2010. Tabata played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the team where he spent most of his MLB career. Throughout his baseball career, Tabata played for many teams, including the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Lotte Giants of the Korea Baseball Organization. During his time with the Pirates, Tabata became famous for his excellent fielding, base-stealing abilities, and high batting average. In his first couple of seasons with the Pirates, he made significant contributions to the team's success, including helping them reach the playoffs in 2013.

Despite his solid performance, Tabata's career was cut short due to a series of injuries. However, during his baseball career, Tabata played in over 427 games with a batting average of .275, recording 195 runs scored, 156 RBI, and 24 stolen bases. Although he retired in 2019, his legacy as a talented and hardworking player will continue to inspire future generations of Venezuelans who aspire to become successful baseball players like him.
