Kenny Lofton, a former professional baseball player, was born on May 31, 1967, in East Chicago, Indiana. Lofton's athletic abilities were evident early on as he was an excellent athlete. In college, he played both basketball and baseball, but it was baseball that he chose to pursue professionally. Lofton quickly established himself as one of the most dynamic center fielders in the game. He was a six-time All-Star, with one Gold Glove and four American League stolen base titles. In addition, Lofton held a .299 batting average, 622 stolen bases, and scored 1,528 runs over his 17-year career. A standout during the regular season, Lofton was especially helpful during the postseason. he helped lead the Cleveland Indians to two World Series appearances in 1995 and 1997, and with five different teams, Lofton was part of 11 playoff teams.

Kenny Lofton's career is one of the most successful of all time. Lofton played for 11 different Major League teams, and he was known for his exceptional speed and base-running ability. He was also praised for his defense, having won a Gold Glove award in 1993. In addition to his MLB career, Lofton had a successful stint in professional basketball, where he played for the NCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball team of the University of Arizona.
